Two Soldiers Raise Money for Charity


Two soldiers from Morecambeare set to complete a simulated bike ride that will cover 500 miles. they will also have endure a simulated climb to raise money for the SSAFA Forces Help. Danny O’Donnell and Jay Wilcock are the two soldiers that will be taking on the challenge. Both are currently attending Morecambe High Schooland they are both from a team of 10 soldiers.

Danny said: “This is going to be an extremely hard challenge for me and my soldiers so I had to ensure I picked the fittest in the unit.”

Also Danny recently won a 40-mile ultramarathon challenge which may come in handy as this is also another endurance challenge.

Jay said: “The assessment and build-up to this was epic in itself and everyone has worked really hard.


Charity Brings Back Premature Baby Home After 1 Year

A baby that was born after 23 weeks has been brought home by a charity called Grace on Wings after a long year in the hospital

Olive Rutkowski was born in Indiana and weighed less than just two pounds.

She got pneumonia in the first days of her entrance to the world and doctors predicted that her chances of survival were very slim.

Her father, Ben Rutkowski had this to say : ’Her lungs were very underdeveloped, and what little tiny lungs she had were mostly scar tissue,’

He then went on to add this ‘They really didn’t expect her to survive at all.  And it was a miracle that she did’

Her mother Olive relies on a ventilator so she could not make the 600 mile journey but fortuantly the charity Grace on Wings offered to transport the miracle baby to her mother.
