Commitment to Participatory Monitoring and Evaluation
Throughout the life of the project, monitoring activities will be
undertaken to provide the necessary information to assess project activities
and performance, and to fine-tune ongoing project design.
The project log frame will form the overall structure of monitoring and evaluating
the projects activities. This will be informed by numerous monitoring activities, all
of which display a high commitment to participatory approaches and inclusion.
These include:
- Baseline survey on polices and attitudes stakeholders(see activities outline);
- Pre- and post-tests These will be undertaken before and after each
training;
- Interaction and feedback from the family members This will be undertaken
by the project partners in each country, via interaction with the family, which will be
documented and analysed to measure the effectiveness/impact;
- Non-traditional tools These include tools such as “outcome mapping”,
“most significant change”, peer lead focus group discussions and interviews;
- 360 degree Participatory Monitoring and Evaluation An approach
designed during the project planning meeting whereby each partner takes responsibility
for interviewing another partner during our six monthly meetings. By the end of the project
each partner will have interviewed and been interviewed by everyone else. A generic
template has been developed by all partners to capture the main monitoring and evaluation
issues and learning from the project. This in turn is written up and shared with all partners
- Annual Reviews Once each year, Healthlink Worldwide will work with the
key stakeholders to review the project and to assess progress against the log frame’s
objectives and indicators. Revisions to the log frame will be made, based on the experience
to date and inputs from the target group in refining specific project activities
- Quality assurance Questionnaires will be filled out at the end of each
training session. In addition a suggestion box will also be available.
- Evaluation An independent evaluation would be undertaken in year three.
This will be led by a specialist in the field of disability, rights and gender.
